Dog Parks in B.C.

Dog Parks in B.C.

October's Meetup will be held in a new park. Above is a link to a website that lists dog parks, if anyone has been to any of them could you let me know about the park and whether it would be a good location for October and November's Meetup.

Thanks Kristen

Email sent to Jamie RE: Dust & Changing Locations

Hi Jamie,

Yes we are changing locations every few months or so. We were at Hume Park a few times, then we tried Derby Reach Park and now we are at Rocky Point. I thought changing it around every 2 months would work, unless there were too many complaints and we opted to move on.

October and November's Meetup will be at a new location. I think we are going to try a location closer to downtown in order to accommodate our Vancouver members.

Hume park is dusty too and isn't set up very well; it is long and skinny, not allowing much room to really run. My experience in dog parks during the summer is dust, grass doesn't really doesn't stand a chance when it comes to digging and paws tearing it up. It seems most parks are dusty in the summer and muddy in the winter.

And as always if you discover a another great dog park, please tells us where it is and a little about the set-up (ie fenced, water access etc.)

September Meetup Ideas & Suggestions

I know that we just had our August Meetup but I thought I would get a start on the next.

Did everyone like Rocky Point? If everyone liked the park and the location I would nominate it again for September's Meetup.

Also I got a request from Baxter. Can we move the Meetup for September to the 3rd Sunday? He can't make the Saturday because his mom is busy again.

I hope that the change in date might enable more to come that can't make it on Saturdays (Margo and Dickie?)

It was nice to receive all your emails this morning saying that the turnout was good and you all had fun in the sun with your terrorists.

When I picked up Baxter at my parents last night my mom said she would have taken Baxter down to the Meetup if I had told her about it. They just live minutes from Rocky Point. It's too bad I wasn't on the ball because Baxter would have loved to have been there as well as my mom.

August Meetup Info

WHERE: Rocky Point Park
Port Moody, BC

WHEN: Saturday, August 20th
10:00am

Out of all the previous locations this one is a great place for the humans too. There is a boat launch and dock, great walking trails and if you plan on hanging around 'til the lunch hour there is a great take-out fish n' chips restuarant too.

PLEASE POST IN THE COMMENTS SECTION IF YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING OR NOT.
